Audio Call GUI Updates #1 - Menus & Textbox

After finishing the dialogue for Audio Call, my visual novel, I decided to pretty up the interface! This will be an ongoing series about the various updates I make to the GUI! Stay tuned! 😉

Main Menu & Game Menu Overlays
First off, the main menu overlay is a user interface element displayed on top of the main game screen, normally providing access to the game's main menu options like starting a new game, loading a saved game, adjusting settings, or exiting the game. A game menu overlay is that same except it provides game customization options without interrupting gameplay.

I'm aiming for a sci-fi look with the novel's GUI (because it takes place in a sci-fi setting), and got an idea for the designs of the overlays: mimicking the hologram-like designs of some of the sprites!
I chose to make the overlays purple and pink because those are the colours I associate with the main character, Andrea. I used the original overlay as a reference to match its exact size. This is the result:

The game menu overlay followed the same principle, but I used a very dark blue for the background so everything atop it will stand out.

Textbox
The dialogue box followed the same design elements as the overlays, but with the addition of audio wave patterns! (Get it? Because the novel is about an audio call? 😂)
I'm very proud of how it looks! And I made it green/bluish because I didn't want to use purple and pink for everything.

Thank you for reading my post! If you wisk to get updates on future ones, consider subscribing! I really appreciate the support 💛
